Your club needs help!

With the MSU/Cal football game fast approaching we are looking for a bunch of helpers with the wide variety of activities that we have planned for the weekend.

Since there will be 10,000 MSU fans coming from all over, this as an awesome opportunity to help raise money for your club’s Bay Area Endowment Fund. This fund was established in 2007 with the goal of raising money to give away a scholorship to a needy Bay Area student that makes MSU their school of choice. So all proceeds raised during the football weekend will benefit the fund.

Here are the different activities we need help with:

City Tours and Guides

Think you know San Francisco? Do you know a lot about it’s history, and cool or strange stories? We are looking for several knowledgible and talkative locals to sponsor walking tours of the city on Friday August 29.

Guide MSU fans around the city, and get to assist with raising money for the endowment. We are looking for 4-5 people who really know their stuff to take tours of 15-20 people around the city and show them a good time !! Please email prez@sfbayspartans.org with the subject “City Tours and Guides” if you are interested in signing up!

Bar Crawl and T-Shirt Sales

Interested in leading some MSU alums through the wide variety of watering holes in San Francisco? We are looking for 3-4 people to assist with a pub crawl on Friday night around the city. So if this something that you would like to help out with, please email your club Secretary, Heather, at secretary@sfbayspartans.org

Are you or someone you know in the T-shirt business? We are looking for assistance with the design and manufacture of a T-shirt to commemerate this historic weekend. We are trying to do this at low cost, so that we are able to raise as much as we can for the endowment. Please e-mail secretary@sfbayspartans.org if you are able to help. Please put in the subject line, “T-shirts” so that we know where to direct the follow up.

Local Business Owners

Are you, or do you know, a MSU business owner in San Francisco? Do you know a business owner that is a BIG TEN Alum? With over 10,000 MSU fans coming to town, and with multiple groups all over the city, what a great way to help increase business. The MSU Alumni web site will feature local businesses on both the MSU Alumni Web Page as well as a special webpage that we will be sending out to other groups all over the country.

Since these devout MSU fans are all converging on SF, what a great way to see a spike in business! And since we are doing walking tours, pub crawls and hosting other events, we would be able to direct business to you! Advertising space is limited, but worth it. Donations for Auction

We will be hosting an auction during the Pep Rally before the game to also help raise money for the endowment. If you know or are able to donate anything of value that would help, please email prez@sfbayspartans.org. We are diligently working to have a special MC for that morning, so please be on the lookout for that. The auction would be held at the MSUAA pep rally. Directions and locations to follow, but is sure to be one of the weekend highlights.

Fundraising and PR

Finally, since none of us really know a ton about fundraising or PR, if there is anyone from those industries that might be able to help to coordinate some of these action items it would be greatly appreciated.
