We have reserved the San Mateo Ice Center with the U of M Alumni Club for a few games of BROOMBALL. The fee is $12 per adult and no charge for kids under 18.

The rink provides brooms, helmets and balls, but be sure to bring warmer clothes (since we are running on ice) and your own gloves or protective wear that you feel you need. Children are welcome, but if they are under 18, parents must fill out a waiver beforehand which can be found at the San Mateo Ice Center website below.

Afterward, we will meet up at BJ’s restaurant next-door for some drinks and nourishment.

With the weather changing in both CA and MI, it is that time of year again! That’s right! It’s Red Wings vs. Sharks season. The MSU Alumni Association will be teaming up again with the U of M Alumni Association to present the Detroit Red Wings taking on the SJ Sharks at the Shark Tank.

The tickets are $40 each, generally located in sections 221 to 227. Based on the attendance in previous years, and our ongoing interest in this game, we were able to reserve over 250 tickets for sale between the 2 clubs. This is always a sold out game so this is a great deal, hope you can join your fellow alumni for this game!

There will also be a pre-game event, which will be detailed further as the game date approaches.

Only those that send in funds will get tickets, we can’t hold them for you ahead of those that pay promptly.

Your Alumni Club is planning to take over Kezar Pub in the Haight-Ashbury neighborhood of San Francisco to catch all the action! For us Left Coasters, game time comes a little on the early side, with kick off time at 9:00 a.m. local, but we hope that you’ll make an effort to join us regardless!

MSU’s been rolling along well since the Cal game, and has been ranked for the first time this year! They are going against an undefeated Northwestern team that promises even more fireworks than last years shootout in East Lansing.

The game will be at 12:30 p.m. PST and this week’s party will be at Double D’s Sports Bar in Los Gatos. This bar is a favorite of South Bay folks and promises to the be the biggest game yet for MSU!

Let’s really try to pack the house for this game! MSU is tied for first place in the Big Ten and has an opportunity to become bowl eligible with a victory this Saturday. So please post to the site if you are coming to Double D’s, or where you’ll be watching, and let’s get everyone out to support our Spartans!

The Big 10 Picnic is an annual event bringing together alumni of the Big 10 Universities living in the San Francisco Bay Area for an afternoon of fun, games, and all-you-can-eat BBQ! This year’s event has changed to a more central location – Little Marina Green, in San Francisco. There will be a school vs. school volleyball tournament, Big 10 Jeopardy, and a raffle with lots of great prizes.

Ample parking is available nearby (see the blue regions of the map below).

This is a great event for people of all ages – from recent grads looking to network and meet new people, to families looking to spend a day in the city on a beautiful San Francisco October afternoon!

Bring your own alcoholic beverages if you desire. Also, bring beach chairs and picnic blankets!

We are talking Tigers vs. Giants! We have secured 50 tickets to the baseball game next Monday, June 16 at AT&T Park.

The tickets are located in the first 3 rows of Section 137 in the bleachers. The tickets are only $20, and will be distributed first come, first served.

This is the first time that the Tigers have played the Giants in a long time and is definetly a good night to head on out to the ballpark. Game time is at 7:15 pm, so we will be meeting at the 21st Amendment before the game for a little tailgate as well.
