The MSU Alumni Association of the San Francisco Bay Area is proud to announce that we have entered into an agreement with Michigan State University to create an endowment on behalf of the organization here in the Bay Area. This endowment will be a scholarship to afford a needy graduating Bay Area high school senior the opportunity to attend Michigan State University. The student must show above average academic achievement, demonstrable civic involvement and proven leadership traits in order to receive this award.
We need your help! We have committed to raise $30,000 over the next five years in an attempt to raise enough money so that we can give $1,000 away every year, forever, to a deserving student. We are sure we can meet this ambitious goal with your help.
We are looking for people to donate time, money, and talent in order to reach our goal. We are also looking for cash donations, but it doesn’t need to be thousands of dollars, necessarily, rather whatever you feel you can afford.
The MSU Alumni Club of San Francisco Bay Area will be holding periodic fund raising events to continue the growth of the fund.
Direct donations (which are tax deductible) can be made online. Please note: on the form where it asks “This contribution is designated as follows” be sure to indicate “MSU Alumni Club of San Francisco Bay Area Scholarship” – or simply send checks by mail to:

“MSU Alumni Club Of San Francisco Bay Area Scholarship” should be placed in the “memo” portion of your check. Checks should be made out to “Michigan State University”.
Please note: when making donations directly to Michigan State, don’t forget that many corporations will match a certain amount of donations to universities and other non-profits. Check with your employer’s HR department to see if your donation qualifies!
