Having regained their confidence and their national recognition (#22!) with a 35-21 victory at Michigan last Saturday, the Spartans will take on the Wisconsin Badgers in East Lansing a few days from now.
Your Alumni Club is planning to take over Kezar Pub in the Haight-Ashbury neighborhood of San Francisco to catch all the action! For us Left Coasters, game time comes a little on the early side, with kick off time at 9:00 a.m. local, but we hope that you’ll make an effort to join us regardless!
Please post a comment on the site if you’re planning to attend, or to let others know where you’ll be watching so other Spartans can join you.
Directions are available here on the site.
Spartans, it’s time to cast your vote for the Liberty Mutual College Football Coach of the Year. Coach Dantonio has turned the MSU football program into one that demands respect and deserves recognition as one of the best College Football Coaches in the country. We need your help, please cast your vote for the man who has turned Michigan State Football around.
More than just a trophy, the Liberty Mutual Coach of the Year Award provides each winning coach with $50,000 to donate to one or more charitable organizations of his choice and a $20,000 grant to donate to his school’s alumni association to enhance student scholarships and activities. As of last year, $300,000 has been donated to charity, and $100,000 given to alumni associations.
Boosted by its first win at Michigan since 1990, Michigan State moved back into the major national polls today. The Spartans are No. 22 in the Associated Press poll and No. 21 in the USA Today coaches poll. Go State!

Happy Hump Day MSU Spartans!
So it is Wednesday, and I am getting ready for this weekend. Spartans… Wolverines… ‘NUFF SAID. This Saturday MSU battles for State supremacy against our friends down the road in Ann Arbor.
After a hot start, MSU had hard luck against Ohio State, but are looking to solidly rebound this Saturday. “Little Brother” has been waiting for this game all year and is looking to knock around some Wolverines starting at 12:30 p.m. PST. The watch party will be at the Stadium Pub in Walnut Creek. Thanks to all the Spartans who made it out last week, we had more than 30 people at the Old Pro! We’re hoping we can get an even bigger crowd this week! The Stadium Pub is an awesome place to watch the game.
So come on out, and cheer on Sparty as he unloads a can of you know what on the Wolverines!
Directions are available here on the site.
Just a quick reminder that we need you at the watch party this Saturday! We already have more than 20 Spartans that have sent in their RSVP – so if you’ve been on the fence about coming out to join us, now you know that we’ll have a good crowd to make some noise against the OSU contingent. But, we’re only half way to the number we are shooting for, so we hope you can make it!
The game starts at 12:30 p.m. PST and will be shown nationally on ABC. The watch party is at the Old Pro in Palo Alto.
Live in San Francisco? We’re taking the 10 a.m. CalTrain down to Palo Alto, the bar is only a couple blocks walk from the station.
Please RSVP to email@example.com if you’ll be at the watch party, on the train, or both!
Directions are available on the ‘Where to Watch’ page.
So at 6-1… Gosh that feels good saying that! At 6-1, the Top Ranked College Football Team in Michigan… GOSH… IT feels even better saying that! We’ll be battling for perhaps sole possession of 1st place in the BIG TEN! That is even better!
Our Spartans take their magical 2008 ride to another level as they take on the Buckeyes this Saturday in East Lansing. The game starts at 12:30 p.m. PST and will be shown nationally on ABC. This weeks watch party is going to where the turnout has been the strongest… at the Old Pro in Palo Alto!
Last event at the Old Pro, we had 15 people… so I’m challenging the entire Bay Area to get up for this and let’s make it at least 45 Spartans! If we do get that many, we may need our own section so I am looking for folks to RSVP ASAP so I can contact the bar for reserved seating. If we can not get that many, then we will send out another blast letting people know that they we need to get there early to secure tables.
Keep in mind that the Old Pro always has a huge Ohio State alumni turn out, so we’re asking everybody to make an extra effort this weekend so we can fill the place floor to rafters with GREEN!
For the those living in San Francisco, we’ll also be hosting another CalTrain caravan from the city down to Palo Alto in case any one wants to get a huge caravan going! Since we did not get a huge response last time – sorry Justin – we want to get RSVP’s for the train as well. We will be taking the 10am Train from SF and it will arrive in Palo Alto by 11:02am.
If you are interested in showing those Buckeyes whose boss, please RSVP to firstname.lastname@example.org and come out for a what will be an awesome game and another MSU Victory!
Directions are available if you need them.
The MSU Alumni Group is taking its watch party on the road this weekend to Los Gatos as the #23 (AP) ranked Michigan State Spartans take on the Wildcats of Northwestern.
MSU’s been rolling along well since the Cal game, and has been ranked for the first time this year! They are going against an undefeated Northwestern team that promises even more fireworks than last years shootout in East Lansing.
The game will be at 12:30 p.m. PST and this week’s party will be at Double D’s Sports Bar in Los Gatos. This bar is a favorite of South Bay folks and promises to the be the biggest game yet for MSU!
Let’s really try to pack the house for this game! MSU is tied for first place in the Big Ten and has an opportunity to become bowl eligible with a victory this Saturday. So please post to the site if you are coming to Double D’s, or where you’ll be watching, and let’s get everyone out to support our Spartans!
If you need directions, they’re posted here on the site.
