Big 10 Night at San Jose Earthquakes

We are participating in Big 10 Night at the San Jose Earthquakes vs Chicago Fire game on Wed, September 27th! The game is at 7:15pm at Avaya Stadium in San Jose.  Come out and show your support for our very own MSU Alum, Fatai Alashe, Midfielder #27.  Our group tickets will be in section 113 for $28 each and will be sent to you electronically the week of the game.

The Quakes will also be hosting a post-game meet-and-greet to the first 50 tickets sold.  We're working through those details with the ticket office and we will advise on the Eventbrite page once the player(s) are identified.

Big Ten Networking Event

Hope you are having a great start to the New Year! We are working on a number of events for the first few months of 2013 so we will be following up soon on what’s coming. But I wanted to let you know that there is a networking event tomorrow night which you may be interested in attending! This is an “all Big 10” event, so a great opportunity to meet some new people and build out your personal Bay Area network.

Join us for a Big Ten Networking Event and Pediatric Cancer Fundraiser tomorrow, Saturday, January 12, from 6-10 p.m. at 111 Minna Gallery. Mingle with fellow Big Ten alumni for a great cause, with all proceeds benefiting the Four Diamonds Fund, a leader in the fight against pediatric cancer. Tickets include appetizers, with drinks for sale; $10 in advance, and $15 at the door.

For advance ticket purchase, and to RSVP, go to the Facebook Event Page.

Lots more to come! Your questions, comments or suggestions are always welcome. Feel free to contact me anytime.

Big 10 Picnic Update

Join Big Ten alumni of all ages for our Annual Big Ten Alumni Picnic in San Francisco on Sunday, October 2, from 12 noon to 4:00 p.m. We’ll provide the activities, games and fun as we join other Bay Area Big Ten alumni from Illinois, Iowa, Indiana, Purdue, Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Penn State, Wisconsin and Nebraska. (Northwestern will not be participating this year).

We have reserved a beautiful site near San Francisco Bay and overlooking the Golden Gate Bridge. Little Marina Green is a large grass area just west of Marina Green and east of Crissy Field. (Marina Blvd at Lyon Street, across from the Exploratorium).

We’ll have volleyball teams, water balloon toss, bocce ball and Big Ten Jeopardy. Wear your school T-shirt and bring the kids. Just check in at your school’s sign in table when you arrive for your wristband and to sign up for any teams and games you are interested in. Parking is free along Yatch Road although spaces are limited. Make sure to register in advance to take advantage of your membership benefits.

The picnic is FREE for MSUAA members, provided you RSVP by this Thursday, September 22. Non-MSUAA member cost is $5. If you RSVP after September 22, cost is $5 for everybody, member or non-member.
