Oct 20: MSU vs UM Game Watch

Wow! What a fantastic football win last weekend against Penn State! We had a small but mighty group at The Brick Yard in San Francisco watching together. Let’s carry the momentum through this weekend!

Aimee Wise (Game Watch Director), Chad Lesausky (Club Photographer), and I (Sara Sobon – President) will be at The Brick Yard this Saturday to host the biggest game watch of the football season; Michigan State University vs. University of Michigan. The game starts at 9:00 AM and we hope that you can join us for brunch to cheer on our Spartans!

The Brick Yard will have food and drink specials, and we will have great prizes that we will be raffling off to help support our scholarship fund! Raffle tickets will be sold for $5, $10, and $20, so please bring cash or you can Venmo one of the club’s board members. Some of the bigger prizes include a signed Jalen Watts-Jackson poster from the big MSU vs. UM football game in 2015, signed photos from other MSU football and basketball players, and a MSU themed woven afghan blanket.

Reservations recommended for the Game Watch, so call the Brick Yard to reserve your table.

In other club news, Aimee Wise and Katelyn Dunaski have graciously volunteered to help to support two of our open board roles: Game Watch Director and Community Service Events Director respectively. Welcome, Aimee & Katelyn!

We still need 4 more volunteers to fill out the board, so if you are interested, please check out the website for the role descriptions or reach out to me to learn more!

New Volunteers Needed

We have an urgent need for a new Game Watch leader to manage the upcoming Football season at The Brick Yard! If you have enjoyed a game watch in the past few years there and like having our official “Home for the SF Bay Area Spartans” please consider stepping up, TODAY, to help keep high quality events there throughout the 2018-19 season!

All other board position openings are listed on the About Our Alumni Club page.

Season Kickoff Party, Aug 18

Bay Area Spartans! I’m pleased to announce that we’ll be back at The Brick Yard for the upcoming Football and Basketball seasons! Big thanks to Ryan Wager for his continued sponsorship of and partnership with our alumni club! TBY has donated more than $5,000 already to our Scholarship Fund and have been a fantastic host and partner. To get the season kicked off, we’re having a happy hour party next Friday night and hope you can join us! We’ll have drink specials from 5:30-8pm. Also, if you are thinking about getting involved with the club this is a great opportunity to meet our newest board members and hosts Rohan Israni and Sara Sobon! Our events are awesome because of our great volunteer team and fantastic partners! Go Green!
